Outside a small hut, safely past the farms and guard towers, Tlylpotonqui the Lizard man stood outside, his emerald scaled glittering in the sun. "Curses. I need more food again!" he muttered to himself.
Searching through his spell components, he pulled out a minaturized spellbook, called the book of Amoxtli. Concentrating on it, he imagined it enlarged, and it suddenly grew to about four times the size it had been in his pocket.
Tlyl began to hurriedly leaf through it, and he found the spell he was looking for. Once again, he concentrated on the book, and it shrank. He put it in his pocket. (When he first got the book, he put a spell on it that enlarges/shrinks the book at his will.) He pulled out a different spell component pouch, he took out an amulet made of jade, and placed it around his neck. He took out some petals of the metzli flower, that only grows in the Trobahn jungle. As he sprinkled it in a small circle, he began to think. Curse Mazuhizoi, I only have enough petals for three more transformations! I need to make another trip to Trobahn... I'll have to go to the north part of it, though...
He stepped inside the circle, raised his arms up, facing towards the sun, and began to quickly mumble a chant in Ichtaca, Lizard tounge. This had become an almost-daily ritual for him. All of the sudden, there was a green flash. Tlylpotonqui shrank about a foot. His skin became smooth and peach, while his scales came loose to from a green shirt, breeches, and shoes. His nose and mouth seperated and became about five times smaller, his hair slid back into his head, and new blonde-but-almost-white hair came out. Aldwyn Chadbyrne stepped out of the circle. "Not bad, but a little too green to be great," he said, examining his skin. He picked up the petals, which were glowing faintly, and scattered them into the wind. Aldwyn/Tlylpotonqui began to walk into the village.
((By the way, outside of big cities and significant places, there are rings of stone similar to Stonhenge but smaller in size. These are called Druid circles, and mages, depending on their experience and how much magic they have used lately, can teleport themselves or themselves and a group of people holding hands to any other one of the circles in the country. These are commonly used methods of transportation by mages, and they can be paid nice fees to transport others to different places.))
