Kat didn't get any faster, not wanting to put any strain on her horse, she got to the end and got slightly slower and turned around and tapped the flanks of her mare, and sped towards Wulf. Kat beat Amelia. Then she dismounted.
Kat called out to her, "Why'd you stop?" She then took a red apple out of her vest and crushed it under her boot, then petted Bambina's muzzle and fed her the apple. She then crushed another apple, "You want an apple for Baculum?" she said holding a wet, flat apple in her hand.

Amelia kept walking stroking his mane soothingly and occasionaly massaging him although he probably wasn't tired.

"Sure," she called as she neared Kat, "My par paris, companion, arabian here wants a nice sweet treat," she said as she patted the sand colored horse.

"Why I stopped? Oh I didn't want to strain Baculum," the horse swished his white tail indicating he knew they were refering to him, "After all you never know what's coming ahead I just wanted to be on the safe side. That's all." Turning to Wulf she asked him, "Can we go to the palace?"

Kat continued to pet the glistening sweat speckled sides of her horse. Running out of things to do she took a curry comb out of a saddlebag and started to brush Bambina. She shouted to Wulf, "Are you going to answer my question?" she bats her eyelashes, "About your love life. But I guess if you don't answer me, I'll have to pick your brains again," Kat said inspecting her fingernails.

Wulf looked at Kat. "Good job, Kat. Em, you're right not to strain your horse, but you could have warmed him up." Wulf redid the tie that kept his black ponytail in the back of his head. As he did this, he said, "Well, I'm off duty now, and I don't feel like going home. If, however, I am needed, we'll go to Halstrom. I chose to stay in Mayhope for awhile only because it's only two day's ride to the capital." He finished getting his hair out of the way, and dismounted. "As for Kat's question, he smiled. "Don't pick my brains. Do that again, and I hang you from a well. Yes, as a matter of fact I do," he said, his voice beginning to sound far away. "Her name is Sachi, and she lives in Kaysa, a small city just west of Trobahn, and it is on the sea. The city is beautiful, along with her. Her hair is dark brown like sweet chocolate, and she wears it down, and it streams onto her shoulders. Her eyes are a-" Wulf was thinking of Sachi, and beginning to sound ridiculous as he did whenever he described Sachi.

Kat makes kissing noises, "Good thing you answered me, I was just getting relaxed to go through that lovely mush you call a brain. As for being hung from a well... getting killed... my ghost would LIVE in your brain for all you know..." she pulled out another shiny apple, "You want this?" crushing it and offering it to Wulf's horse.

"I was offering it to your HORSE Wulf, besides, how do you know that your horse doesn't want it" Kat said, "Besides, I know you wouldn't want it, you never know where these boots have been. Or were you talking about my ghost living in your brain?"

"No, I meant that my horse has already had enough treats. Where's Lisbetha?" Wulf asked.

"Suit yourself," Kat said as she divided the apple between her and Amelia's horses, "I'm not quite sure where Lisbetha is. I rode past her, but I haven't seen her since then."

A very dirty Lisbetha walked up behind him quietly, "BOO! Ha. Scared. You!!!"

Wulf turned around. "Why are you so dirty? That wasn't scary, by the way..."
