It was the first and probably the largest of the Midwinter parties. Wulf, who had just been announced and had to come in with Liz, was relatively grumpy for two reasons. One, he'd had to walk with Liz holding, er, rather, gripping altogether too hard, his arm. Two, they had called him Wulfenstein. Needless to say, he wasn't pleased. Immediately, he seperated from Liz and surveyed the great hall.
Tables were pushed together in long rows. Candles were in quite a few places. The many decerations showed things that had happened in the past year. Guards were stationed in various alcoves, each in gold-washed armor holding a long spear with flowers around it. There were plates out everywhere, and huge amounts of food with pages at the ready to deliver them.
Wulf, however, was rather bored. He eyed the other nobles that had entered so far. There were some he knew from his years as a page and a squire, and there were some he'd been on border duty with. Hashesh of Southwind, the current governer of the city of the Oasis of Wrath, was also there. He had his pet snake Lanh wrapped around his neck, and was assuring people that Lanh wouldn't harm them unless provoked.
This completely disinterested Wulf, who's sole plans for the night were to avoid Addy, who still had yet to enter, and if possible, have a chat with Annette.
He looked outside the door that led to the courtyard, which was very well-lit. Lamplight shone on the leaves of the plants, but showed no people there yet.
Wulf decided to get some water and find someone to talk to.

Tlyl was fascinated by all he saw around him. He began to try to memorize his surroundings, so he could write about them and research them later.

Liz rolled her eyes at Wulf and waited for the others to enter. She would get Wulf later.

"No," said Eddy, his eyes still on Adara (he was still amazed at her tansformation from "commoner" to almost "noble-like"). "I'll just wait here." Grace was in a very bad mood. She felt like the little sister and didn't want to. Sky was getting a little cranky too and started to mew. "Shh," she whispered, "you aren't supposed to be here!"

Liz walked over to Eddy, who was standing alone. 'So... how are you. Edward." It was more like Liz being polite then Liz caring, even though she wanted to be by someone she knew.

Wulf noticed Addy coming towards him, probably to get water too. He put his glass down on a nearby tray and walked quickly away, only to practically run into his dad. Hugs were quickly exchanged, and they talked.

Grace was honestly lost and alone. She was even a little bit scared. She went over to Dage. "We are both single. So what do we do?"

"What do you refer to when you say, 'single'?" asked Tlyl, keeping his eyes on his surroundings.

Kat looked at James, who was very handsome in his formal wear. "Hey," she said, "Look, it's Wulf. I think he's talking to his dad. I'm gonna go over there to see what happens."
Kat walked over to Wulf, "Hiya Wulfie!"

"Well," said Grace, "it means I don't have date. A guy. A man. A person that would dance with. Like Eddy and Addy and Wulf and Liz. All I have is Sky, who doesn't count."

"But I thought that the until-recently long-haired human and Lizbetha did not like eachother," said Tlyl, confused.
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- "Hullo, Kat. Kat, this is my dad, Jakob of Sturmhammer Gorge. Dad, this is my squire, Kat," said Wulf, doing the introductions.
"Nice to meet you, Kat. So Wulf got a squire. Good. He could use someone to knock some sense into him," teased Jakob.
Wulf rolled his eyes.
