I felt like we needed a FAQ. Though some of these questions were never actually asked, they should be muchly helpful to new members. 
Q. What's the point of this board and when/why did it start?
A. The short answer is that it's made to roleplay, have fun, and stay in touch with friends. It started on October 4th, 2003, because Kelsey (your resident admin) got bored and was disappointed about her favorite RPG getting shut down. So she made her own.
Q. What is a board? What is a Board Category? What is a thread?
A board category is a category a board is in. This FAQ is in the category called, "Main." A board is a place within a board category that contains threads. This board is called "Rules/About". A thread is a topic of discussion within the board. This FAQ is in the thread entitled, "Click Here If You Are Confused. (FAQ)".
Q. How do I post?
A. To reply to a previous post, click the Reply button at the end of the thread. To make a new thread, click the board where you desire to make a thread and click the New Thread button.
Q. What is an RPG?
A. RPG is short for Roleplaying Game (or Rocket Propelled Grenade, but that's not what we're talking about ;D ). This means that you create a character and then venture through a world while pretending to be that character.
Q. How do I make a character for this RPG?
A. Click the board entitled, "Character Applications". Then, click on the thread called, "App. Form". Copy and paste the form into a new thread, then fill it out the way you want. Just as a warning, though, you can't post as your character until the character is OKed by me, the GM. IF YOU DO POST BEFORE BEING OKAYED, THIS WILL ANNOY THE GM A GREAT DEAL, AND YOUR POST WILL BE DELETED.

and post a new application. If you take a character from the second place, you need to add much more detail.
Q. If I don't want to make a character, can I still hang out and just post in the Other board?
A. Of course. Most members do have and play a character, but we do have a few people that just like to post in the Other board.
Q. These usernames are annoying. Can I just call everyone by their regular name?
A. Sure. If you're opposed to this, just let people know that you don't want them to do that. We mostly use first names anyways.
Q. What is a GM?
A. GM means Game Master. Since this RPG was my creation, I (Kelsey) am the GM.
Q. What does PM mean?
A. PM means Private Message. This board has a system of messaging similar to email. If you click on the messages, it will display a screen a lot like basic email. An example-
Hey, James Walrus, you have [glow=orange,2,300]5 messages[/glow], 0 are new.

You would then click on the part that is glowing orange.
Q. Ack! I can't get into any other boards but the ones in the Main category!
A. This is because of a problem in the early days of the RPG. There were certain people who kept going into boards and posting smileys all over, making it extremely hard to view previous posts of the RPG. So, the Administrator (yours truly) decided to password protect the entire site. The Main category is no longer password protected, but the RPG portion of it is. When you make a character, you will be PMed the password. If I forget, just ask me for the password, which is rather long but in turn hard to guess. Extremely. So don't try. (NOTE- The password has since gone, but can be easily restored if needed. *glares menacingly at the smiley people*)

Q. What? The board is dying!?!?
A. No, it isn't. This board was started when we were in 6th grade. We played for a while, then the board "died" (wasn't played) for eight months. Now the board is alive again. This should be pretty obvious, so we don't need this to be discussed pointlessly under other threads.
Q. I hear a lot of members talking to other members about something called "chatspeak". What's that?
A. Chtspk is wen u type lyk dis 2 save tyme. Some board members, especially the "grammar thirsty tyrants" among us, find this incredibly annoying, and it has therefore been banned from the story portion of Mythic Realm. You can, however, use it all you want in the Main category, and to some extent in the Characters and Plotlines category.
Q. I see some members have titles such as "Keeper Of Plotlines, Supreme Chancellor, and War Chancellor." Why is this, and how can I get one?
A. Keeper Of Plotlines is me, the board administrator. I am the only board admin as of yet, and I have the most power. There probably won't be another one.
Supreme Chancellors are Global Moderators. They have the ability to moderate, or manage, every single board. They are elected by the members of the board. Elections take place whenever we feel like there's a need for an election. There will always be two of them.
War Chancellors are Moderators. They have the ability to moderate whichever boards they are assigned to, usually two or three. They can manage only the board that they are assigned to, and have the least power. Anyone can request to be a Moderator, and I will usually let you be one and request the boards you want to moderate.
Q. What is it I've been hearing about this "Admins and Moddies " board, but don't see anything?
A. The admin and moddies board is for Administrators and Global Moderators. This board used to be visible, but was quite annoying for members that weren't an admin or moddie because they couldn't see anything posted on the board. So now the board is invisible, and you can only get to it using the URL, which is only given to admins and moddies.
Q. Cool! So where's the thread with my adventure in it?
A. This can be especially confusing to members of VE.In the words of tdm111:
ok, one thing. here it's not your adventure, it's the adventure. each board isn't a seperate game, it's another place in a bigger game. what you get to do is guide up to two characters through the story line (or the occasional npc through a small part)
Q. What's an NPC?
A. NPC stands for non-player character. These are basically characters (and animals) who aren't characters. Anyone can play them and use them as needed.
