"How did you... oh, right," he said, remembering Kat's ability to read minds. Wulf smiled weakly, returned the hug, and continued to nibble moodliy on his bread. He stopped to check the time. 8:00. Plenty left.

Kat returned to her toast, and day-dreamed. She decided to break the silence, "Having mind reading powers aren't all what you'd think they'd be. Sometimes they're necessary, like deciding to wake you up or not. And then others, like listening in on peoples thoughts, and conversations are not. But that's what makes it fun. This time around, it ain't all that fun. I'm feeling what you are right now, and it's not cool. Ah, I guess that's what makes me sweet and compassionate right?" she giggled, "But the one good thing that you would find about it is being able to read the minds of enemies and being able to find out if they are going to attack or not," Kat's eyes narrowed.

"Some would consider that cheating," said Wulf. "I just say it wouldn't be as fun and that if you have to use it, why not?"
He resumed his moody nibbling, and decided to stare into his glass of water.

Kat dipped her fingers in her glass of water, "Hey Wulf!" she said so he would be looking at her. She flicked her fingers so the water splashed im his face.

Just as Kat was flicking water Lisbetha skipped down the stairs, humming. Seeing Wulf she stopped abruptly and sighed. "Who died? Your horse? Because you have that 'look'. Caasa! Just like Mama when her favorite dog died. Fwoosh you motals die all the time anyways. I didn't like your horse anyway." She grinned. "So stop acting like your best friend died and be happy." Standing their in the midst of their greif smiled seemed too much for the small person and she sat down and ordered a hearty breakfast and put it all on Wulf's charge.

Kat tapped Lisbetha and whispered in her ear, "Lisbetha! His girlfriend died..."
She wanted to get something going so she said, "So... are we going to do anything today?"

Wulf glared at Lisbetha, and said to Kat, "Field assignment? Remember? Hello?" in a rather irritable voice, having been not especially happy at the water splashed in his face.

Wulf looked outside. "Speaking of field assignments, we've got to be at the palace in a half hour."

Lisbetha sniffed. "I still don't know if I'm going with you. Tell me what the assignment is when you get back maybe THAT will convince me."

"Hey, Wulf, sorry for splashing water in your face," Kat said. She got up and returned her plate as well, "So, Lisbetha, are you sure you're not going to come? I'll teach you how to ride a horse!"
((Becca, I know that. And Kat doesn't like Adara. Which makes the plot even better. lol))

Wulf, returning to the table, said, "Let's go, then," and strode out the door.
