Khris rushed up to his room, which consisted of a worn bed, crackly writing table with lamp, and a connecting washroom and place to relieve him slef. In the conrned of the room, there was a box- like trunck. Khris unloaded everything, then headed off to the bazaar in order to gather his supplies, and have his weapons gone over by the blacksmith.

"That's a bit of a bad habit, then," said Wulf. "For me, it'd ruin all the fun. I like to keep myself guessing about what the ladies are thinking," he said, grinning. "Please don't slap me," Wulf said, seeing Kat's eyes narrow. "I was just kidding."

Wulf yawned, tired from the riding. He heard the watchman cry out 9:00. "I think I'll go to bed, then," he said. He walked up to the innkeeper to pay for 2 rooms.

"Look, Lisbetha, I'm really sorry... did I tell you about the field assignment?" Wulf mused to himself.
