Adara and Phelan arrived at a small cottage, with an even smaller yard. The area was respectable, with one room cottages, and spaced nearly on top of eachother. The small gardens were well kept, and the thatched roofs were fresh.
A gray haired woman answered the door, looked Adara up and down and then hugged her. (Got to go... will finish later.))

Susanna Stuckridge held Adara out an arms length away and exclaimed, “I can't believe you are home. We had no idea where you were! Come on and explain what has happened all these years to us!" As an after thought, she hugged Phel and greeted him as well, and then led them all to an old, dented wooden table. She pulled mismatched chairs out from the wall, and gestured for the two of them two sit down. Adara’s father, Tom, hugged Adara and shook hands with Phel. He smiled happily, but was much more stoic than his wife. Susanna and Tom sat on their neatly made bed, and Susanna bombarded Adara with questions. Adara smiled at some, and felt a strange, watery substance leak out of her eyes at others. Finally, she held up her hands as if to fend of the never ending flow of questions. “Ma, a mortal can only answer one question at a time! Didn’t Annette tell you I was back in town? If you don’t mind, I think I will tell my tale now?” Susanna nodded approval to this suggestion. Adara began her story, “As you well know, I was hanging out with some…. well, not nice people. At first, I joined because I thought it was fun, and I wasn’t just the weird girl who could set things on fire anymore- I was useful and respected. I made friends, well, I thought they were friends. Now that I look back, I think they may have been afraid of me. Well, anyway, I quickly advanced to the top, the king, Gautier, started to pay more attention to me. I was flattered, I won’t deny it. There is no greater privilege than to be given attention by a leader, no matter what they have done. After a few months of, shall we call it courting, I was announced gang queen. Seeing the shocked look on her mother’s face, she added, “MA! Yes, I am still a virgin, not all my sense was taken away!” Her mother’s face relaxed and she smiled proudly at her daughter. Adara took a deep breath and then continued, “The queen, had benefits, it is true. But there are also… not so nice aspects to the job. For one, everyone is either scared of you, or trying desperately to get on your good side, and those who were friends with you, now use you to reach their own goals. Also, my magic was used to put spells on arrows and knives that kill you instantly.” Adara shuddered, and then continued softly, “I have no idea how many lives have been lost because of me. Finally, I came to my senses, what I was doing was wrong. I also was becoming scared of my magic and what it could do. So, I left. I regret that I didn’t tell you two, but I was worried that you would dissuade me, and make me feel that I had another option. Basically, I was being very self- centered. So, I left for the university. I spent a week in the library, brushed up on some spells and tricks to impress people with, and then applied for a scholarship. Somehow, I got it. I don’t really know why, since I’m just a mage without a proper education… But anyway, I shared a small room with another scholarship student, and did odd jobs for the professors as a way to earn money. Quickly, I made my way to the top of the class. As a scholarship student, I had to earn good grades. It all came easily to me, so the teachers began to give me private lessons for free. I graduated with high marks, and was offered many jobs, but none of them seemed right. I wandered for a while, doing odd jobs, and then giving the money to people who needed it more than I did. It was the least I could do to help people. Helping people was the first step to clearing my conscience, and starting a ‘new life’. Then, I needed to make new friends to go with my new life, so one day I walked into an inn, and heard people talking. I met a group of… peculiar people… or should I say creatures, and we have gone on a faux journey, and have made life very interesting and enjoyable. We are staying at the Twin Daggers Inn, about a 15 minute walk from here. I have missed you!” Adara smiled through her tears, and realized that she had needed to talk to her parents. Susanna embraced Adara again, and Tom squeezed her hand supportively.
((Phel, you can groan here… Sorry about the length, its waaay too long…))

Tom asked slowly, "Did you say dragon? A look of shock passed over Susanna's face, and then she greeted the dragon-human as warmly as she could, and pulled out a chair for him to sit on.

Phel groaned and smacked his palm into his forehead. "Well, this wasn't MY idea. SHE dragged me along."

Adara grinned sweetly at Phel and patted him on the head like a child. Poor Phelan, should we all weep for you?"

Addy, I don't really feel like going to a party today. Can I come join you people? Kat thought to Adara.

((I know... Surprisingly,it only took about 15 minutes... Her name is Susanna)) Sure, it's a little tight, but it will be fine. Just be prepared to be introduced to my parents, they might act a little odd, they are a bit.. shocked, right now.
