(The following was dutifully written down in a slightly worn thick leather book. It is written in a tongue that humans have not deciphered, but is used by our reptilian friend, because human language is boring. He has, however, attempted to leave a translation key in the front should he perish before the journal of his human excursion is complete, but he doubts it will be figured out as human tongues are simply shaped wrong. These pages are an addition to a large number which comes before them.)

Alas, for I have lost count of the days. Being around these humans is incredibly intriguing. This particular group of them seems to be more interesting than the entire sect of persons that I shared the general residence area with for far too many years. 1
These humans do not appear to have known each other for very long, but they fit well together. Strangely enough, I have seen far more conflicts than I have observed evidence of strong connections or bonds, if you will, like that colleagues would have with each other. The one with the auburn hair also claims that she has, through her ability of telepathy, involuntarily witnessed several intrapersonal conflicts of the individuals I have been residing with here at this place of temporary residence. 2 I choose not to excercise my power of telepathy as these humans' brains appear to contain mostly rot and pointless ponderings, which merely cloud my mind.
On this morning, several of my newfound comrades left to the desert for compulsory military service. I find this concept to be intriguing. Apparently, they are going to patrol a border. The best model of explanation I have for my former place of residence as compared to this place is this; We let them come to us, like a spider in a web. These humans choose to go after them. Perhaps I shall examine the effectiveness of this theory by using some of those military theory books I found at the palace library.
Apparently, this 'palace' is a place of resident of the primary government official. Who has no ties to the religion of these people. This also shall require much further investigation.
Well, I must away. I have much work to do.
FOOTNOTES: 1. Believe this residence may be called a "trown" or something similar. Must check with yellow-haired healer woman, as she appears to be the most helpful.
2. Must verify the correctness that this place of residence is called an "inn" and also inquire as to why. Would ask the greenish-skinned one, but am slightly frightened.
